Russell Lorne Wins "Best of Show"
at Annual PCPPA Portrait Competition

At the annual PCPPA (Pierce County Professional Photographer's Association) Portrait Competition held February 24th, 2009, Russell Lorne received the highest honor of the competition, the "Best of Show" for his bridal portrait "Living the Dream." The portrait was a beautiful candid image taken of recent south sound bride Victoria Heath during her wedding held this past summer at the Grand Holiday Ballroom in Olympia.

"Living the Dream" won the wedding photography category, and was later selected by the judges for "Best of Show" to win the competition.

On December 2nd, Russ was awarded the much coveted title "Photographer of the Year for 2008-2009" by the SPPA (Seattle Professional Photographers' Association).

Lorne earned the award for his outstanding achievements in wedding and portrait competitions over the past year. His award winning wedding and portrait collection feauturing many fine art black & white images will be available for viewing on the SPPA's website in January 2009.

Founded in 1945, the SPPA is the oldest and largest professional photography association in the State of Washington. The SPPA currently has 67 active members.

 

PORTRAITS FOR FISH FOODBANK FOOD DRIVE A SUCCESS

We'd like to thank Hometeam Northwest and all of their wonderful clients who turned out for their family day at Picha's Pumpkin Patch. Everyone who brought in food donations for the FISH foodbank received 2 FREE 5x7 portraits.

At the end of the day, we had raised several hundred pounds of food for Pierce County residents in need during these tough economic times. Thank you again for everyone's generosity.
