Indigo Portrait Studios on Facebook
Here at Indigo Studios, we employ many different cameras and formats to create the image we are after.

For weddings, between both Russ and Susan, we balance 6 and sometimes up to 8 different cameras between the two of us. typically one is dedicated for infrared and one for cross-processing and other special effects that add variety and surprise to our clients' wedding images.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO WE USE?

Currently we use Nikon's professional line of both digital and 35mm film cameras. We also use Mamiya medium format for both in studio and on-location portraits.

We love and use natural light and ambient light whenever possible. However, when the occasion and/or our artistic vision calls for it, we also employ a variety of professional wireless lighting systems.

DO WE USE FILM OR DIGITAL?

Yes, we still use film and shoot the majority of our weddings with film. Why? For the same reason a concert pianist might prefer to perform on a 12' grand concert Steinway over an electronic keyboard. It's simply our artistic preference, nothing more.

All our images are scanned and digital files are made available to the client, depending on the collection invested in.

DO WE DEVELOP/PRINT OUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHS?

The high volume of images we take makes it impossible for us to develop and print all of our work.

We employ the services of several professional labs to handle our developing and printing. Many of these labs also print the works of some of the most remarkable portrait collections on display in art galleries and museums around the country.

for example, our exquisite Old World black & white prints are custom printed by the same master printers that were commissioned to print the black & white portraits of the late John F. Kennedy Jr. on permanent display at the JFK Museum in Hyannis, Massachsetts.

We are confident the artistry and craftsmanship behind our luminous prints will "wow" you.

If you'd like to know more about the many fine art papers we offer and the differences between a fiber based paper, RC paper and Hahnemuhle Photo Rag watercolor paper, we'd be happy to answer your questions!
